I just want to say thank you to all who came out in support of the Steam Travelers Picnic. The Steam Traveler is a concept dreamt up by many. To go to different beautiful historic locations and have tea, take pictures, and enjoy the company of friends.
Don Watts said something that is very true about out little community of Steampunks. We are a close knit group. Between us there isn't much competition between us, to show others up and prove who is the best. There is a strong sense of artistry and refinement among us, yet we don't let it go to our heads. This is a rarity I believe in all walks of life and what makes our community strong & healthy. We shall persevere for years to come, and continue to grow as people and as a community.
In the Spirit of community, I would love to tell you about some other
awesome events going on this summer that I am sure you are all aware of,
but if not then none of this was in vain!

Join us for a rollicking day of fun, food, friends, and Christmas
Spirit while we stroll among the quaint streets of Holly, Michigan
during the annual Dickens Christmas Festival. Come in costume if you
choose (Steampunk, Dickens, Victorian,
or Shop Troll) or just don your warmest coat and mittens while we stroll
the streets, sample roasted chestnuts, shop for Christmas, and end the
day with a warm and hearty dinner at the local brew pub.
Closer to the event I will take opinions if a group would like meet for Tea at the Holly Hotel. Opinions welcome. So save the date! We were warmly welcomed last year by the actors and visitors in 2011. Lets do it again and show Holly that we aren't just about the Renaissance Faire.
